About the Opportunity
We partner with law firms and legal departments across the Chicago market to support their ongoing legal staffing needs. Our clients regularly request Legal Assistants and Legal Support professionals, and this posting is designed to build a strong pipeline of qualified candidates for current and future openings.
Roles vary by practice area, firm size, and attorney support needs, and may be temporary, long-term, or permanent.

- Legal Assistant

Pay rates are driven by experience, level of attorney support, and accuracy requirements, as errors in legal documentation and filing can be costly.
Key Skills & Experience We Screen For
While responsibilities vary by role and client, ideal candidates often have experience with:
- E-filing in state and federal courts
- Multi-attorney support (supporting 2+ attorneys)
- Docketing and calendar management, including deadlines and court dates
- Legal drafting (correspondence, pleadings, and legal documents)
- Strong attention to detail and deadline management
Preferred (not always required):
- Paralegal certificate
- Notary Public designation
Software & Systems Preferences
Experience with the following systems is highly preferred, depending on the client:
- Westlaw or LexisNexis
- Odyssey (or other court case management systems)
- PACER and other federal/state e-filing platforms
General Responsibilities (Role-Dependent)
Responsibilities may include:
- Preparing and proofreading legal documents
- Managing attorney calendars, deadlines, and dockets
- Filing documents electronically with courts
- Maintaining case files and legal records
- Coordinating with courts, clients, and opposing counsel
- Supporting litigation or transactional teams as needed
Qualifications
- Prior legal assistant or legal administrative experience preferred
- Familiarity with court procedures and filing requirements
- Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities in fast-paced legal environments
- Degree not always required; relevant legal experience is highly valued
