Long-term Temp role, with high possibility of extension
On-Site for Training, with a hybrid schedule after.
Our Client is a Chicago-based nonprofit that began by supporting African American WWI veterans and has since expanded to serve diverse communities. It provides services in education, employment, housing, mental health, and disability support, all aimed at promoting equity, stability, and self-sufficiency.
Job Responsibilities
- Full cycle Accounts Payable
- Manual process a high volume of invoices, check requests and mileage reimbursements
- Ensure that all payables are properly approved prior to processing
- Previous (Great Plains) ERP software experience
- Maintain and organize Accounts Payable files
- Respond to vendor inquiries and build positive working relationships Specifications:
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent with at least two years related technical experience plus two to three years accounting clerk or payroll experience and/or training in a computerized payroll or accounting environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Accounting degree preferred.
- Excellent knowledge of bookkeeping procedures.
- Strong math aptitude and ability to work and communicate accurately with numbers.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Proficient with personal computers, hardware and other office machines and knowledge of PC spreadsheet software. Knowledge of Great Plains (including integration manager) software a plus.
- Ability and willingness to work scheduled overtime hours.
- Ability to manage own work flow and resolve questions and problems with supervisor.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of information and adhere to Agency’s Code of Ethics
